The crypto boom runs on hype men like ‘BitBoy,’ an untrained Atlanta YouTuber

Interesting article. There’s a lot in here. As usual the media loves controversy (gotta get those clicks) - so I take that with a grain of salt given how “sold out” mainstream media is regarding Wall Street. Ever heard of Jim Cramer :laughing: ?

A few of my opinions:

  • The “untrained” and “hype men” - well - who is trained in digital assets? What courses should we be taking? At what schools?

  • I think many people were surprised by the speed at which many funds/companies collapsed (Celcius, 3AC, Voyager etc.). But in hindsight, an unregulated market with heavy speculation - of course these centralized companies are going to play fast and loose.

Personally I find that a basic understanding of cultural anthropology, and corporate anthropology gives one a blueprint to help read a projects motives, potential and abilities.

A projects understanding of culture and how it is shaped is critical.
